Origins- The angoras are beleived to have started in turkey. It was most likley developed around
1777 as a very fancey pet.
Size- The desired weight for buck is 5 1/2 pounds and 6 1/2 pounds for does. It is the smallest
of the 4 angora breeds.
Description- Its body is short-coupled and compact. It should look like a round ball
of fluff when properly posed.WITHOUT WOOL SO LONG THAT THEY LOOK LIKE A PANCAKE!!!!! It has short v shaped
ears with flowing ear tassles. It should have dense bangs on the sides of its face.
Grooming- The english angora should be groomed at least 30 mins. per week, the most of any rabbit
breed. But since you should at least take the animal out of its cage and check it for any problems at least 1 time a day you
can take 5 minutes to throughly groom the animal and it's not that bad. A properly mantained English Angora is a magnificant
sight. They are very cuddley when freshly groomed!!!
Wool Uses- If you want you can clip and sell the wool. Or you can even spin it and knit yourself.
Angora wool is said to be 10 times warmer than sheeps wool. Washed premium wool sells for 12$ AND UP AN OUNCE!!!!!
